I lead the process safety team at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, as part of the process development organisation, where we ensure that our chemical processes are safe to scale-up to plant scale. I have 12 years of professional experience in process safety, thermal stability, calorimetry, hazardous chemistry, incident investigation and risk analysis. My academic background is a PhD in organic chemistry from KU Leuven. In addition to my industrial role, I also teach classes on explosives and explosion effects to emergency responders (firefighters mostly) and law enforcement. I myself am also part of the company’s volunteer firefighter brigade.
