Ana Toplak received her M.Sc. degree in 2006 from the Chemistry Department at the University of Zagreb (Croatia). After graduation, she worked for GlaxoSmithKline R&D in Zagreb as a medicinal chemist. In 2008, she joined the group of Prof. Dick B. Janssen at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), where she received her PhD degree in enzyme engineering focusing on the development of enzymes for peptide ligation. Since July 2015, she has been leading biochemistry research at EnzyPep B.V., a part of Fresenius Kabi.
